Ross Taylor’s last international innings came to a halt with just 16 balls against the Netherlands. Taylor made just 14 runs in the last innings of his 18-year career. Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar has given a special message to the retired Ross Taylor.

Taylor made his ODI debut in 2006 against the West Indies. He made his debut in T20 cricket the same year. A year later, he made his Test debut against South Africa. Then in his 18-year career, Ross Taylor became the highest run scorer in Test and ODI cricket for New Zealand.

In 112 Tests, Taylor scored 64 runs in 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries, a maximum of 290. Only Williamson is ahead of New Zealanders in terms of Test centuries. Williamson has scored 24 centuries in Tests.

No one has scored more runs for New Zealand than Taylor in ODI cricket like in the last Test. Taylor has scored 602 runs in 236 matches with 51 half-centuries and 21 centuries.

At the end of the 450th match of his career, Taylor said, “I have played against a number of world-class players, including some world-class teams. I am sure that when I retire, I will have some fond memories. You know, there were a lot of ups and downs, but I’m proud of it. I am going to play the 450th match today, I would have been happy if I had one. ‘

Meanwhile, Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar has shared a special message on social media on Twitter to retire. Sachin said, ‘Ross, you have become a great ambassador of a game! The game against you was great. The way you innovate to adapt yourself over the years is an inspiration to all the little kids who want to be cricketers. Congratulations on a great career. ‘

His wife Victoria, three daughters Mackenzie, Jonty, Adelaide and other friends were on the field to watch Taylor’s game. Taylor is happy to say goodbye in front of everyone.
