Taylor made his ODI debut in 2006 against the West Indies. He made his debut in T20 cricket the same year. A year later, he made his Test debut against South Africa. Then in his 18-year career, Ross Taylor became the highest run scorer in Test and ODI cricket for New Zealand.
In 112 Tests, Taylor scored 64 runs in 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries, a maximum of 290. Only Williamson is ahead of New Zealanders in terms of Test centuries. Williamson has scored 24 centuries in Tests.
No one has scored more runs for New Zealand than Taylor in ODI cricket like in the last Test. Taylor has scored 602 runs in 236 matches with 51 half-centuries and 21 centuries.
At the end of the 450th match of his career, Taylor said, “I have played against a number of world-class players, including some world-class teams. I am sure that when I retire, I will have some fond memories. You know, there were a lot of ups and downs, but I’m proud of it. I am going to play the 450th match today, I would have been happy if I had one. ‘
