In recent times, taunting players has become a common human habit. It doesn’t matter if a star plays badly, bad comments continue to be made about them on various social media platforms. Manchester United’s Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list of abusers in the last season of the English Premier League. The data emerged from a survey conducted on Twitter.

The survey on player abuse was carried out by the Alney Turnio Institute, a national information agency in the United Kingdom. According to their data, after Ronaldo, his teammate Harry Maguire is the most cheeky. According to the organization’s information, Ronaldo received a total of 12,520 abusive tweets in the first half of last season. Maguire received 8,954.

Marcos Rashford, third on the list of abusers, received 2,557 tweets. Manchester United finished a disappointing Premier League season in sixth place last season. And that’s why the United players have to fall under the fire of the fans. Eight of the top 10 players most abused on Twitter are from United.

Apart from Ronaldo, Maguire and Rashford, the list includes Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and David De Gea. The other two players in the top 10 are Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

The survey was conducted on nearly 2.3 million tweets. Of which 60 thousand were malicious.
