After Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal added another star from Manchester City. Ukrainian midfielder Oleksandr Zenchenko has joined his childhood favorite club Arsenal. He has joined the Gunners camp on a long-term contract.

Both Manchester City and Arsenal have confirmed his transfer. However, neither party disclosed the financial aspects of the deal. According to Sky Sports, the north London team spent 30 million pounds to get this midfielder.

Although he usually plays in midfield in the national team, he has played most of the time in the left-back position for the Citizens. There he had to compete with Portuguese left-back Joyao Cancelo.

Gunners coach Mikel Arteta, who was excited to bring the 25-year-old star into the team, said, “Zinchenko is a great player. He will increase and diversify our options. Not only in the positions he can play, but also in attack and defense, he will bring us diversity.’

Earlier, Arteta saw Genchenko closely in order to work as Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City. The Spanish coach was interested in bringing this star to the team since then.

Zinchenko is also happy to join the Gunners camp. It’s a dream come true for the star who has supported Arsenal since childhood. He said, ‘childhood dreams have come true. Because when I was a kid, I was a big fan of Arsenal. When Thierry Henry and the young Ces Fabregas played here, I enjoyed their games. Of course from that time I started to love the club. So I’m thrilled and looking forward to playing for this fantastic club.’

Arsenal have added five stars to the team so far in the ongoing transfer season. In between, they brought Jesus to the team before Genchenko from City.

A regular in the Ukraine national team, Genchenko joined Manchester City in 2016 from Russian club UFA. He scored 2 goals and 12 assists in 127 matches for the English champions. During this time he won four Premier Leagues, four League Cups and one FA Cup.

Since his debut in 2015 for the Ukrainian national team, he has played 52 matches and scored 8 goals.
