Brazil has reached the final of the Women’s Copa America. Seleção reached the final like every season. Brazil reached the final after defeating Paraguay 2-0 on Wednesday (July 27). They will play the final against the host Colombia on July 31.

Since 1991, Brazil has played in the final of the Women’s Copa America every time. They have won the title every time except 2006. In 2006, they lost in the final to arch-rivals Argentina.

Brazil, who have not conceded a goal in the tournament, need another win. That too against the host team of the tournament, Colombia. Brazil sent the ball into Paraguay’s net twice in just 28 minutes of the first half at Colombia’s Estadio Centenario. In the end those two goals were enough to win.

Brazil dominated the match from the first whistle to the last whistle. Paraguay, which is far behind in strength, could not only stop the goal festival of Brazil’s razor-sharp attack, but could not even create the least chance to return to their match in the 90th minute.

In the 16th minute of the match, midfielder Ari Borges put Brazil ahead with an assist from Beatriz Zaneratto. In the 28th minute, Beatriz himself extended the gap by hooking the ball into Paraguay’s net. For the rest of the first half and into the second half, Paraguay made several more attacks on goal. However, the defending champions could not score any more goals due to the failure of finishing and the determination of the Paraguayan goalkeeper.

In 2018, Brazil won the title by defeating hosts Chile. Now they have another opportunity to defeat the hosts and bring home the eighth title of the tournament.

July 31 at 6 am Bangladesh time at Estadio Alfonso Lopez in the Copa America final between Brazil and Colombia, who are playing in the final for the first time.
