Born in Singapore, Tim David plays in franchise T20 cricket leagues around the world. Even though this devastating batsman plays for the Singapore national team, he has the blood of Australian parents. Australian legend Ricky Ponting wants to see this batsman who stormed various domestic leagues of the world including IPL, Big Bash, PSL in the Australian team. According to him, David can win the World Cup for Australia if given the chance. In this young man, Ponting finds a shadow of the late all-rounder Andrew Symonds.

In 2019, David made his debut in the Singapore jersey in international T20. But before that, he made his debut in Australia’s franchise T20 tournament Big Bash in 2018. The batsman who played 14 T20 Internationals was born in Singapore in 1996 but his father Roderick David was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. A right-arm pace bowling all-rounder, Roderick was an engineer as well as playing for the Singapore national team.

Despite playing in the Singapore national team following the path shown by his father, Tim David’s dream is to wear the jersey of the Australian national team. Ricky Ponting, the most successful captain in the history of Australia, proves that David, who has played T20 all over the world, has the ability to play for the Australian team. According to him, David Ajid can bring the World Cup.

He said, ‘If I were a selector, I would have kept a cricketer like him in the team. He is a match winning cricketer. He is not an average cricketer who does not deserve to be in the team, in fact he is the cricketer who can win you the World Cup.’

With Tim David, this Australian legend finds another former cricketer late Andrew Symonds in common. He thinks David can play a big role in helping the team win the World Cup just like Symonds if given the chance. “David reminds me of Symonds in the 2003 World Cup,” he said. Joining players like them will win you the tournament. That’s how I see David now. I know Australia have a lot of other batsmen, but none of them have played as well as David in the last two years.’

Tim David has scored 558 runs at an average of 46.50 and a strike rate of 158.52 in 14 T20 matches for Singapore since his debut. In addition, he scored 2556 runs at an average of 164.79 at an average of 33.19 in 114 recognized T20 matches. Bran’s highest innings is 92 runs.
